Cortney Lowinski

Cortney Lowinski is an actor, educator, and Lecturer in the Drama Department at the University of Virginia. She has a B.A. in Acting from Loyola University Chicago (2002), an M.A. in Acting from the University of Essex East 15 Acting School (2007), and an M.F.A. in Drama with an emphasis in performance from the University of Virginia (2023). She is a movement specialist with a focus on the practices of Jerzy Grotowski and Rudolf Laban. She is currently working toward her teacher certification in the Miller Voice Method (summer 2024).

Cortney has taught courses and workshops in acting, movement, physical theatre, acting the song, speaking in public, voice, and improvisation in Chicago, London, and Virginia. She has directed, choreographed, and acted in numerous productions in Chicagoland. She is a member of SAG/AFTRA.
