UVA alumnus Stefan Sittig will visit the Department of Drama for a public conversation, Q&A, and reception exploring the contributions of Latine artists to American musical theatre. Drawing upon his recently published book, Latinidad in Musical Theatre (Bloomsbury), Sittig will examine musical, narrative, performance, and choreographic contributions extending from the early twentieth century to the present. As a director, choreographer, movement and intimacy professional, performer, educator, and scholar, he connects historical research with contemporary artistic practice. Join us to celebrate the immense contributions of Latine artists to the richness of Musical Theatre and welcome back Drama Alumnus Stefan Sittig for conversation and connection.
The UVA Bookstore will be offering Latinidad in Musical Theatre for purchase,
and will hold a book signing event on Tuesday, September 8th at 4pm.
