Support the Department of Drama and the Dance Program at the University of Virginia

Attracting exceptionally talented students from across the country, the Department of Drama at the University of Virginia is a lively center of creativity. A visitor strolling through the Drama Building on any given day will see students engaged in scene rehearsals, design meetings and dance projects. The department is expanding its programs to accommodate rapidly growing student interest in drama and dance as well as new media technologies in performance and design. Annual support from friends and alumni helps us reach these academic and artistic goals.

 

THE DAVID & PENNY WEISS ENDOWED FUND

The David and Penny Weiss Endowed Fund was created by a group of University of Virginia alumni to honor David Weiss, former professor and chair of the Department of Drama and his late wife, Penny Weiss. The David and Penny Weiss Endowed Fund supports graduate education in Technical Theater (i.e.: Set, Costume, Rigging, Lighting, Sound and Theater Design) in the Department of Drama.

David passed away December 18, 2017.

THE RUTH CAPLIN THEATRE SEAT CAMPAIGN
